Career Opportunities in Vanuatu !Job Vacancy: DOCK OPERATIONS MANAGER Employer/Company: Pierre Brunette Shipping (PBS) Job Location: VanuatuDOCK OPERATIONS MANAGERQualifications:Proven experience in dock, port, shipping, logistics, warehouse, or cargo operations.Strong leadership experience managing diverse operational teams.Previous experience supervising dock workers, warehouse personnel, casual workers, or logistics teams is highly preferred.Strong knowledge of cargo handling, vessel operations, loading and unloading, container management, and logistics processes.Excellent organizational, leadership, and decision-making skills.Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to work effectively under pressure.Proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and optimize space.Strong communication and coordination skills.Ability to work flexible hours according to vessel schedules and operational requirements.Strong commitment to workplace health, safety, and PPE standards.Ability to manage multiple operational priorities in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Organize and oversee daily dock and vessel operations.Coordinate loading and unloading activities to ensure efficient cargo handling and quick vessel turnaround.Supervise the receiving, sorting, labeling, storage, and dispatch of containers, parcels, and heavy cargo.Monitor cargo movement and ensure accurate and timely handling of shipments.Plan dock activities and optimize available space for efficient cargo storage and movement.Lead, supervise, and assign tasks to dock staff, casual workers, and other operational personnel.Monitor employee productivity and ensure operational targets are achieved.Enforce strict workplace health and safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.Identify and address operational hazards and ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements.Coordinate with Sales, Commercial, Vessel, and other departments regarding bookings, cargo movements, vessel schedules, and shipping updates.Monitor vessel schedules and adjust dock operations according to changing requirements.Resolve cargo handling, manpower, scheduling, and operational issues promptly.Develop and implement improvements to optimize dock space, workflow, productivity, and cargo handling processes.Maintain accurate operational records and reports.Ensure equipment and dock facilities are used safely and efficiently.Promote a professional, productive, and safety-conscious working environment.Perform other dock and port operations duties as assigned.Requirements:Update and detailed Resume in Word format or PDF with a pictureEmployment CertificateTraining CertificatePassport CopyWalk-in applicants are welcome to apply!Visit our office for personal Pre-Screening at: HRD Employment Consultant and Multi-Services, Inc. 📍3/F, Jemarson Bldg., 1618 P.
