Common Responsibilities of an Aquatic Technician (General Technician):
- Monitor and maintain water chemistry, temperature, and overall quality parameters to ensure a safe and stable environment.
- Inspect, operate, and perform routine maintenance on aquatic life support systems, filtration equipment, and water pumps.
- Diagnose and perform basic mechanical, plumbing, and electrical repairs related to the aquatic systems and exhibits.
- Conduct regular cleaning of tanks, filtration units, and surrounding facility areas.
- Keep detailed and accurate logs of water quality tests, maintenance activities, and equipment performance.
- Assist the husbandry or curatorial teams with any technical support needed to ensure the health and safety of the aquatic life.
