Position Overview:
The Interpretation and Outreach Associate (IOA) is a one-year term position commencing on September 8, 2026. This role requires fluency in key San Francisco Bay Area languages to effectively serve diverse communities, with a specific focus on Spanish, Arabic, Chinese (including both Mandarin and Cantonese), and Filipino (including both Tagalog and Ilocano).
Common Responsibilities of an Interpretation and Outreach Associate:
- Deliver accurate interpretation and translation services to facilitate clear communication between the organization and multilingual community members.
- Coordinate and execute targeted community outreach campaigns to engage and support historically underserved populations.
- Develop, translate, and distribute culturally appropriate educational resources and informational materials.
- Represent the organization at public forums, workshops, and community events to build trust and strengthen local partnerships.
- Gather and analyze community feedback to help the organization improve its services and communication strategies.
