Job Vacancy: PSYCHIATRIST DOCTOR Employer/Company: Alexandra Hospital Job Location: Saint Kitts and Nevis PSYCHIATRIST DOCTOR Qualifications: Must hold a recognized medical degree. Must have completed the required postgraduate training and specialist qualifications in psychiatry. Must hold a valid medical license or be eligible for medical registration and specialist licensing in Saint Kitts and Nevis. Must have relevant clinical experience in diagnosing and managing psychiatric and mental health conditions. Must possess strong clinical judgment, analytical skills, and decision-making abilities. Must have excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-counselling skills. Must be able to work effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Must demonstrate compassion, professionalism, respect for patient confidentiality, and a commitment to ethical medical practice. Responsibilities: Conduct psychiatric evaluations, clinical interviews, and mental health assessments. Diagnose and manage psychiatric disorders, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, and other mental health conditions. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients’ clinical needs and medical histories. Prescribe and monitor psychiatric medications in accordance with clinical guidelines and applicable regulations. Provide psychotherapy or other evidence-based psychiatric interventions within the physician’s scope of practice. Monitor patients’ progress and adjust treatment plans when necessary. Assess and manage psychiatric emergencies and mental health crises. Coordinate with psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care. Provide guidance to patients and their families regarding mental health conditions, treatment options, and recovery plans. Maintain accurate, confidential, and complete medical records. Participate in case conferences, clinical reviews, and quality improvement activities. Follow hospital policies, medical ethics, patient confidentiality requirements, and applicable clinical safety standards.
