Diploma / Short Course Certificate holder in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or similar fields.Must have a recognized electrical trade qualification and electrical qualification/licence.Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on electrical experience, ideally including commercial or industrial installations.Demonstrated ability to perform electrical fault-finding on live systems safely and methodically.Working knowledge of solar PV systems, with battery storage experience highly relevant.Knowledge of hybrid inverters, battery systems, and solar/grid/generator changeover arrangements.Solar PV installation or maintenance certification is an advantage.Knowledge or experience related to refrigeration or cold-chain power systems is an advantage.Strong computer literacy and ability to work daily with monitoring applications, spreadsheets, and email.Ability to interpret solar system performance data and prepare clear technical reports.Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Good written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to overseas support teams.Strong supplier and contractor coordination skills, including persistent follow-up of technical issues through to resolution.Methodical and safety-conscious with disciplined record-keeping practices.Sound understanding of Solomon Islands electrical regulations and safe isolation procedures.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with site teams, contractors, suppliers, and management.Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel between sites.Responsibilities:System Monitoring and PerformanceMonitor all company and third-party solar PV sites daily through the solar monitoring application.Become the in-house expert on the monitoring platform, including its reporting, alerts, diagnostics, and performance-monitoring functions.Track solar generation, energy consumption, battery state of charge, and grid/generator draw against expected performance.Investigate sites producing below expected output and identify potential causes such as soiling, shading, string faults, inverter derating, failed optimizers, or communication dropouts.Respond promptly to system alarms, monitoring alerts, and site-reported technical issues.Attend sites when required and diagnose and rectify faults safely and within the limits of technical competence.Carry out first-line electrical fault-finding on inverters, isolators, DC and AC switchgear, batteries, monitoring hardware, and associated equipment.Technical Support and Fault ResolutionEscalate unresolved faults to the Malaysian system supplier and technical support team with clear and complete fault reports.Provide photographs, error codes, monitoring data, diagnostic information, and other relevant technical details to support remote troubleshooting.Attend scheduled technical support calls across different time zones when required.Follow technical escalations through to resolution and maintain accurate records of open and closed support tickets.Coordinate with contractors and qualified technicians when specialist repair work is required.Maintain records of faults, corrective actions, supplier communications, repairs, and system resolutions.Cold Store Power ContinuityTreat cold store power continuity as the highest-priority load.Understand the changeover arrangements between solar, grid, and generator systems at each site.Regularly verify that backup power and failover arrangements are tested, functional, and ready for use.Coordinate testing and maintenance of backup and changeover systems.Respond promptly to electrical or solar system issues that could affect refrigeration and cold storage operations.Work closely with site supervisors and managers to minimize the risk of power interruptions to critical loads.Preventive MaintenancePlan and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all solar PV systems.Carry out or supervise solar panel cleaning and routine maintenance activities.Conduct thermal and visual inspections of panels, inverters, batteries, switchgear, connections, and ancillary equipment.Perform torque and electrical connection-integrity checks as required.Conduct battery condition checks and monitor battery performance.Coordinate firmware updates and other required system maintenance activities.Ensure every solar PV site remains up to date with its preventive maintenance schedule.Identify equipment showing signs of deterioration and arrange appropriate corrective action.Safety, Compliance and Asset ManagementEnsure all solar and electrical work complies with Solomon Islands electrical regulations and company safety procedures.Enforce safe isolation and lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) practices during electrical maintenance and repair work.Ensure appropriate PPE and safe working practices are followed during site activities.Maintain an accurate asset register covering solar panels, inverters, batteries, switchgear, monitoring systems, and ancillary equipment.Record equipment serial numbers, installation details, maintenance history, faults, repairs, and replacement information.Maintain organized safety, compliance, maintenance, and technical records.Ensure all maintenance and technical documentation is complete and up to date.Coordination and ReportingServe as the primary liaison between company sites and the overseas solar system supplier and technical support team.Coordinate with site supervisors, managers, SIEA, contractors, and third-party site owners.Prepare clear reports covering solar generation, system performance, faults, maintenance activities, and outstanding issues.Use spreadsheets, email, and monitoring applications to maintain and communicate technical information.Identify opportunities to improve solar yield, system reliability, energy efficiency, and equipment availability.Travel between company and third-party sites as required.Perform other solar systems coordination and technical duties assigned by
