Internship Opportunity: Business Advisor Support Intern (Bilingual: Filipino, Thai, or Vietnamese)
Renaissance Economic Development Corporation (REDC), a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and bilingual Business Advisor Support Intern. This position is designed for individuals fluent in English and either Filipino, Thai, or Vietnamese. The intern will play a critical role in expanding REDC's reach within immigrant and minority-owned small business communities, providing vital administrative, advisory, and linguistic support to facilitate access to capital and business technical assistance.
Responsibilities of the Business Advisor Support Intern:
- Assist business advisors in conducting intake, screening, and assessment of small business clients.
- Provide translation and interpretation services in Filipino, Thai, or Vietnamese to help clients navigate loan applications and business technical assistance.
- Support clients in gathering, organizing, and preparing financial documents and business records required for CDFI lending programs.
- Conduct community outreach and engagement activities targeting Filipino, Thai, or Vietnamese small business owners.
- Maintain accurate client records, update database systems, and assist with program reporting requirements.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of business training workshops, webinars, and educational seminars.
- Conduct research on local market trends and resources available to immigrant entrepreneurs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Fluency in written and spoken English, as well as native or professional proficiency in Filipino, Thai, or Vietnamese.
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from an undergraduate or graduate program, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of business concepts, financial statements, or entrepreneurship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general database management.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to economic development in underserved communities.
