**Position:** Dental Float Front Desk Receptionist
**Locations:** National City and Mira Mesa
**Reports To:** Dental Supervisor
**Job Purpose:**
Under the supervision of the Dental Supervisor, the Dental Float Front Desk Receptionist supports the operational and administrative functions of our dental clinics. This position plays a critical role in advancing OSI’s mission to improve healthcare access for underserved populations, including Filipino, Asian, and other uninsured or underinsured communities within National City and Mira Mesa. As a float position, the successful candidate will provide essential front desk coverage across multiple clinic sites to ensure seamless patient care and service continuity.
### Key Responsibilities of a Dental Float Front Desk Receptionist:
* **Patient Reception and Check-In:** Warmly greet patients, verify demographic and insurance information, and manage the patient check-in/check-out process.
* **Appointment Scheduling:** Coordinate, schedule, and confirm dental appointments using the electronic health record (EHR) system to optimize clinic flow.
* **Insurance and Payment Verification:** Verify dental insurance eligibility (including Medi-Cal, PPO, and sliding fee scale programs), explain co-pays, and process patient payments.
* **Multi-Site Flexibility:** Float between the National City and Mira Mesa clinic locations as operationally required to meet staffing needs.
* **Phone and Inquiry Management:** Answer incoming calls, address patient inquiries, route messages to clinical staff, and make outbound reminder calls.
* **Record Maintenance:** Accurately update and maintain patient dental records, ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
* **Administrative Support:** Assist the Dental Supervisor with daily administrative tasks, end-of-day reconciliation, and maintaining a clean, welcoming reception area.
