### **Position Overview**
Roadworx Fiji Civil Engineering Contractors is seeking a qualified and experienced **Safety Training Officer** to champion workplace health, safety, and environmental standards across construction sites, workshops, and operational facilities in the Fiji Islands.

### **Key Responsibilities**
* **Training & Education:** Design, update, and facilitate workplace safety training, employee orientations, and regular toolbox talks covering hazard identification, risk mitigation, and emergency response procedures.
* **Compliance & Monitoring:** Conduct routine site inspections to ensure strict adherence to occupational health and safety (OHS) protocols and verify the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
* **Risk Assessment & Reporting:** Support the development of risk assessments, draft safety documentation, and maintain comprehensive records of safety training sessions, attendance, and competency assessments.
* **Incident Investigation:** Assist in reporting and investigating workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, recommending effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
* **Safety Leadership:** Collaborate closely with site supervisors and management to cultivate a proactive, zero-harm workplace safety culture.

### **Qualifications & Competencies**
* **Experience:** Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in occupational health and safety, ideally within civil engineering or construction environments.
* **Education & Certifications:** Relevant Technical/Vocational certification or TESDA credential in Occupational Safety and Health.
* **Technical Knowledge:** Thorough understanding of OHS standards, hazard identification, and risk control measures.
* **Core Skills:** Strong presentation, public speaking, and interpersonal skills; exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
