Common Job Roles and Responsibilities:
- Transporting mining consumables, drill steel, explosives, and equipment to underground active headings
- Assisting jumbo operators, charge-up crews, and production drillers with daily operational tasks
- Installing, extending, and repairing underground ventilation ducting, water lines, and compressed air pipes
- Conducting manual handling, loading, and unloading of materials at designated supply bays and shaft stations
- Performing general housekeeping, rock clearing, and site maintenance to maintain underground health and safety standards
- Operating light vehicles, integrated tool carriers, or utility vehicles to distribute gear across mine levels
- Monitoring inventory levels of consumable tools and reporting supply shortages to shift supervisors
