Gabon Wood Industries is seeking an experienced, highly vigilant **Forestry Ranger** to oversee forestry and timber harvesting operations. ### **Key Responsibilities**
* **Surveying & Boundary Demarcation:**
* Establish, maintain, and refresh Annual Allowable Cut (AAC) boundary lines, logging blocks, and *layonnage* tracks using GPS, clinometer, and compass.
* Conduct pre-harvest assessments to identify terrain characteristics (slopes, rivers, hills) and chart optimal log transportation/skidding routes.
* **Operational Monitoring & Quality Assurance:**
* Conduct tree inventories, parcel counting, and log verification (hammer markings, log dimensions, and authorization).
* Supervise skidding and harvesting operations to prevent log abandonment and ensure minimal residual stand damage.
