Common roles and responsibilities include:

- Providing attentive, high-quality daily care focused on children's safety and well-being
- Preparing healthy, balanced meals and snacks tailored to children's dietary needs
- Establishing and maintaining consistent routines for feeding, naps, hygiene, and bedtime
- Planning and leading age-appropriate educational, creative, and recreational activities
- Managing light housekeeping duties related to the children, including laundry and organizing nursery or play spaces
- Facilitating safe transportation to school, appointments, and extracurricular activities
- Collaborating effectively with other household staff and maintaining clear communication with parents regarding developmental progress
