Common Responsibilities and Job Roles:
- Excavating soil, rock, and minerals to construct underground shafts, tunnels, and passageways.
- Operating heavy mining machinery, drilling equipment, and pneumatic tools.
- Setting up structural supports, timbering, and wall linings to secure underground cavities.
- Assisting in the safe handling, loading, and detonation of explosives for blasting operations.
- Monitoring environmental hazards, including gas levels, structural integrity, and ventilation efficiency.
- Transporting excavated debris and materials out of the work site using conveyors and heavy haulers.
- Performing routine safety checks and maintenance on underground equipment and infrastructure.
