Common Responsibilities of a CSSD Technician:

- Receiving, sorting, and decontaminating used surgical instruments, medical devices, and clinical equipment.
- Inspecting instruments for cleanliness, defects, or wear prior to sterilization.
- Assembling and packaging instrument trays and medical supplies according to standardized guidelines.
- Operating and monitoring specialized sterilization equipment, such as autoclaves, to ensure proper functioning.
- Conducting routine quality assurance tests, including chemical and biological indicator monitoring, to verify sterilization standards.
- Maintaining precise documentation of sterilization cycles, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels.
- Managing sterile storage areas and safely distributing medical supplies to the operating theater and other clinical departments.
- Adhering strictly to infection control policies, facility safety regulations, and healthcare standards.
