Common Responsibilities of an Echo Technologist:
- Perform non-invasive diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations, including transthoracic and stress echocardiograms, to evaluate heart anatomy, chamber size, and blood flow.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, securing informed consent, and ensuring their physical comfort and safety throughout the exam.
- Operate and adjust ultrasound equipment to obtain optimal, high-quality images and Doppler recordings of the heart and surrounding vessels.
- Analyze diagnostic data, perform necessary hemodynamic calculations, and prepare preliminary technical reports for the interpreting cardiologist.
- Maintain, calibrate, and sanitize ultrasound machinery and ancillary equipment to ensure compliance with medical safety standards and operational efficiency.
