Position Overview and Requirements
The Social Worker Assistant role requires a candidate who is flexible with their work shifts to successfully meet the diverse needs of the program. Applicants must possess a valid driver's license or required professional credentials. While not mandatory, bilingual proficiency in English and either Cantonese or Mandarin is highly desirable. Additionally, the ability to communicate in other targeted Asian languages, including Vietnamese, Filipino, Korean, or other Southeast Asian languages, is strongly preferred.
Common Responsibilities of a Social Worker Assistant
- Assist professional social workers in conducting client intake, assessment, and goal planning.
- Guide clients and families in accessing community resources, healthcare services, and public assistance programs.
- Maintain precise and confidential client records, case notes, and program documentation.
- Provide translation or cultural mediation to support non-English speaking clients during consultations.
- Conduct routine follow-up contacts to monitor client welfare and the effectiveness of services.
- Coordinate logistics, schedule appointments, and arrange transportation for clients as needed.
