Job Description

The Associate Professor of Counseling (DSPS) position is located primarily in the California Central Valley. This role involves serving a highly diverse student body, which is comprised of 50.2% Latinx students, alongside Asian, Filipino, and other diverse student populations.

Common job responsibilities for this role include:
- Providing academic, career, and personal counseling specifically tailored to students with disabilities.
- Determining and authorizing appropriate academic accommodations in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Developing individualized Student Education Plans (SEPs) to guide students toward their academic and career goals.
- Collaborating with faculty, staff, and administration to promote accessibility, inclusion, and universal design principles across campus.
- Assisting students in developing self-advocacy skills and connecting them with appropriate campus and community resources.
- Participating in departmental meetings, committee work, and professional development opportunities.
