Overview:
As a Senior Architect, you will report directly to the Lead Architect, taking responsibility for implementing project plans and ensuring all items of project deliverables are delivered on time and to the recognised BSBG standard. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering technically demanding projects, across multiple sectors.

Responsibilities:

Design Development:
Aiding the Lead Architect with all aspects of design development.
Responsibility for the design development of projects from concept to completion.
Responsibility for all local authority compliance and code compliance.
Responsibility for utilising correct design standards
Responsibility for all technical detailing of projects
Responsibility for meeting the brief from an operational and functional perspective
Shared responsibility for writing and collating the NBS specification
Shared responsibility for writing and updating the brief
Coordination of all sub consultant packages
Review of all drawing packages prior to issue

Documentation:
Ensure Project Architects A3 folder is up to date.
Track the issuance of all drawings, specifications etc. Ensuring correct procedures are in order.
Write cover letters for each formal issue.
Monitor and ensure smooth progress for all local authority submissions.

Quality Assurance:
Ensure that Quality System Procedures (QSP) and operational standards are understood, adhered to and maintained by Project Architect.
The 5 rules of drafting to be maintained and checked on a regular basis, with a report to be issued following each check and circulated to Senior Management
Ensure Project Architects are fully conversant with the relevant standards and approved relevant local authority regulations
Ensure Project Architects meet agreed deadlines for documentation issue
If slippage is likely to occur notify the relevant lead and agree a recovery programme
Ensure that Project Architects correctly prepare the local authority submissions in accordance with the
relevant local authority requirements
Responsibility for meeting with local authorities and expediently processing submissions Any problems
must be alerted to Senior Management
Responsibility for resource tracking schedules
Responsibility for NOC tracking schedule

Consultant Coordination:
Coordinate design team meetings with the relevant sub consultants. Meetings must be minuted with actions and pending dates.
Ensure construction drawings are fully coordinated with sub-consultants prior to submissions.
Ensure all sub consultants review and agree to programme of deliverables.
Track drawing issues to Sub Consultants and their issue of information to BSBG
Ensure the sub consultant’s scope of work is complete at each stage in order for Lead to certify payment.
Responsibility for ensuring Sub consultants have applied for NOC’s.

Management:
Responsibility for the management of the project deliverables.
Responsibility for communicating all aspects of project deliverables to Project Architects and Architects and to Senior Management.
Motivation of project team.
Assist Lead with overall project management.
Ensure soft and hard project files are maintained to BSBG standards.
End of year appraisals and interviews of Project Architects and Architects.
Must provide ideas and project implementations to enable work to become more efficient, better
coordinated.

Resources:
Must constantly review resources available against those required for successful project implementation.
Review Project Architects drawing schedules and approve.
Ensure reference material from suppliers is updated and handed to the Librarian.

Planning:
Ensure necessary time is allowed for each stage of deliverables utilising experience on previous projects.
Ensure the Lead is updated on progress and programme.
MS Project programme must be produced and updated following each packaged delivery of
information

Communication:
Ensure to have a constant communication with assigned project teams.
Responsibility for all project based written correspondence.
Minutes for all formal meetings
File notes for all informal discussions/meetings.
Liaison

Ensure constant liaison with the following:
a. Client
b. Sub-consultant
c. Contractor
d. Supplier
e. Manufacturer
f. Statutory Authority

Post Contract Coordination:
Ensure constant communication with the post contract team and advise on site related issues.
Review and advise on specialist sub-contractors design and shop drawings.
Liaise with post contract team to ensure any alterations or amendments on site are as per local authority regulations.
Ensure issuance of relevant ‘For Construction’ drawings and documents at the appropriate time to the site team and Contractor.
