Role: The BIM Coordinator will be primarily responsible for project related tasks including (but not limited to) trouble shooting, undertaking BIM related exercises on projects (including Navisworks), undertaking/ supporting with project BIM audits. The BIM coordinator resource allocation will be assigned by our Senior/Lead Digital Coordinator who will assess project needs and assign accordingly.
The BIM coordinator will be a member of the Digital team and will add value to company standards and strategies. He or she will be an ambassador for the company standards and will enforce these whilst working amongst the team on projects.
As a secondary role and time permitting, the BIM Coordinator will support in practice development tasks as set out by the Senior/Lead Digital Coordinator.
Responsibilities: Software Assist in ensuring that consistent versions of the same software are used across all workstations in the office Evaluate new BIM related software/ technology and provide recommendations to the Senior/Lead Digital Coordinator
Standards: Support with BIM execution plans, standards, and guidelines Develop BIM standards, their implementation and enforcement under the direction/ guidance of the Senior/Lead Digital Coordinator Support with template files as required Check models and drawings for completeness and adherence to company standards. Assist in ensuring compliance to ISO and British Standards during company audits with the assistance of the QA/QC manager Provide guidance to the project team directly where required to ensure the correct standards and modelling methods are maintained Develop office standards & procedures for clash detection using Navisworks software Provide innovative ways to improve the efficiency of the project teams that help meet client requirements Inform lessons learned and best practices for future reference. Lessons learned tracker will be managed by the BIM Coordinator
Support: Address technical challenges related to BIM implementation Troubleshoot issues that arise during the project Coordinate BIM file exchanges and archiving of milestone submittals/ data drops etc. Assist the technical team with the production of clash detection / digital engineering reports
Training
Support the Senior/ Lead in any CPD’s undertaken. Provide training to projects teams on the projects whilst supporting in BIM support tasks Provide BIM orientation to new staff and explain BSBG BIM standards and modelling protocols Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and best practices in BIM
Project interface: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and updating of BIM models Undertake project rectification tasks as required if projects are falling short of the standards and not passing audit requirements Assist project teams in line with Senior/ Lead Digital Coordinator request Support in complex modelling tasks Support with project set ups (Including Navisworks) Create Revit families in response to technical team / Senior/Lead Digital Coordinator requirements. Inform the needs within the BSBG Revit Content library and ensure that projects are using the BSBG standard content Assist in resolving corrupt files, Model Auditing and recovery Verify and validate the accuracy and completeness of BIM data Organise and maintain project-related BIM data and documentation Enforce BIM file naming conventions Support with classification inputs and assessments Support with ACC troubleshooting and permission management Ensure projects are complying with the BEP
QA/QC: Verify model accuracy and integrity Identify and resolve clashes or conflicts in the models Regular model QAQC checks Ensure BIM models comply with the established standards and protocols. Using the Interoperability tools and other mechanisms, review model health in line with BSBG standards and industry best practice Perform regular quality checks on BIM models and data Identify and resolve inconsistencies, errors, and omissions in BIM deliverables Ensure compliance with project requirements, regulations, and industry standards Implement and monitor BIM quality control procedures
